Join MTSC in the summer of 2022 to strengthen your musical and performance skills, while immersed in Italian culture. We begin in residence at Il Piastrino, a Country Farmhouse Villa in Vinci, in the heart of Tuscany and the home of Leonardo da Vinci. We will rehearse together, eat together, perform, take day trips to Florence, Montecatini and more for the first week. Then, for a complete change of pace, we will spend five nights literally 650 FEET from the Pantheon in the very center of Rome. We will perform in famous Basilicas and ancient places in the area. Next stop is in Perugia, the home of the Umbria Jazz Festival. Then on to the City of Bologna in the Emilia Romagna Region, where the oldest University in the Western World, the University of Bologna, founded in 1088, is located. Considered Italy's "College Town", Bologna is rumored to have the most authentic Italian food! We will finish the trip in Mainland Venice on the Canale de la Fornasa, and perform in Vivaldi's own church, the world-renowned Chiesa della Pietà. Don't miss this opportunity to expand not only your musical ability and resume, but also your world view. We will leave time for fun! Stroll the cafe-lined streets for a cappuccino, eat gelato to your heart's content. We have also been known to take bike tours, which are equal parts exercise, excitement, and eating, on our Italy trips, such as this one in Tuscany.
